Iconic Girly 2000s Movie Core 🛍️💅 📞
Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan ruled this era.. after Alicia Silverstone paved the way as Queen B.
Vamps, 2012
I was recommended this on YouTube after watching Elvira and cannot believe I have not seen this sooner..I don’t even remember this ever being a thing. Or maybe Twilight was so bad that I didnt bother to want to see another subpar vampire movie. Or it was during a super awkward phase of mine where I wasn’t in the mood to socialize 🤷🏻♀️ [I was wayy cooler in junior high than in high school, just sayin]
Crying Level: 20/10 at the ending when Bonnie was reliving her past. Literally was not prepared for that. 😭💔 This movie went from campy comedy, to grotesque, to utterly depressing. But would totally recommend to a girly girl who loved Twilight (at least the books), loves Starbucks runs, and clubbing at chic spots. If you have a baby like me, the ending will make you want to squeeze and hold onto your precious little chunky cherub and hang onto every single special moment with them moreso than ever before. 👼🏻
***I realized after my title that this is from the 2010s, not 2000s but I will leave it in anyway. It fits the whole vibe of kitchy friends who are edgy, just missing a high school and overly snarky juvenile banter.***
It’s lso kind of sad that social media was becoming a new thing during the filming of this movie, with __ mentoring Bonnie on Twitter and the latest slang. Back then everyone was still clubbing and socializing, now we’re Instagramming and crying. 🎀 😢
The Hot Chick, 2002
I am so glad I was recommended The Hot Chick after crying my eyes out with Vamps. This movie is hilarious and very easy to watch. I remember the hype surrounding this movie when it first came out, but I don’t think I was ever really allowed to watch the whole thing myself. I was only 6 at the time. I remember the slightly older girls in my life were obsessed with recreating the iconic ass slap the girls do when they humiliate the rival cheerleading squad at the mall. When I saw that yesterday I was delighted because it brought back some vague memories that were stored away.
Crying level: 0.5/10. I almost had a tear escape when April became emotional to have Jessica turn back into her old self.
