“Oh don’t be ridiculous, Andrea. Everybody wants this. Everybody wants to be us.”

Andy Sachs prefers to wear chapstick over her peers‘ choices of lingerie and lipstick. She is your (very) average American girl trying to make it in publishing in New York City. She lands a job at Runway (Vogue) after a harsh interview with Miranda Priestly (Anna Wintour) who degrades her lack of fashion and knowledge of the industry. After a few mishaps and rude comments directed at her from her co-workers, Andy proves her worth and becomes Miranda’s biggest right hand. Andy ends up leaving; however, after she realizes that in order to get ahead at Runway, people need to get thrown under the bus, which violates her code of ethics. My thoughts are anyone can work at a highly stressful job, but why would anyone stay if it wasn’t something actually worthwhile like a Runway or a Vogue? At least if I were to work at a place like that, I can wear beautiful clothes, get great connections, and work with like-minded individuals who share a love of fashion with me. But even I could not stay at Runway if it was a toxic work environment because why? I think the point of The Devil Wears Prada is no job is ultimately worth it- not even Runway- if the workplace is toxic. But at least it can get you a thousand better jobs, which others cannot.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

I began collecting Kate Spade purses about 4 years ago, ranging in sizes and colors. It is my favorite designer. In September 2022, I bought my first YSL bag.
